Jun 01, 2025
Casely has partnered with The Trevor Project this June as part of our #EveryCaseCounts charity initiative. Find out more about this nonprofit organization and ways you can support its efforts.
What Is The Trevor Project?
The Trevor Project is a suicide prevention and crisis intervention nonprofit for LGBTQ+ youth. Founded as a support hotline, the project provides 24/7 access to crisis counselors for LGBTQ+ youth struggling with issues such as coming out, identity, depression, and suicide.
The Trevor Project advocates for policies that help prevent suicide among LGBTQ+ individuals through legislation, litigation, and education. It pushes for policy reforms in support of young LGBTQ+ lives.
The nonprofit produces research that presents issues focused on the LGBTQ+ community and provides opportunities to save lives. It leads the development, collection, and analysis of data collected from LGBTQ+ youth.
Through TrevorSpace, LGBTQ+ people between 13 and 24 can find a welcoming online community. They can find support groups and make friends in a safe space with more than 400,000 members.
The project provides training and other educational materials to allow everyone the ability to provide competent suicide prevention to LGBTQ+ youth. The Trevor Project’s mission is to end suicide among LGBTQ+ young people.
How Can You Help?
Donate
Donating to The Trevor Project funds its crisis services, advocacy, research, peer support, and public education. Make a one-time donation or set up a monthly account for continuous giving.
LGBTQ+ youth with at least one supporting adult are less likely to attempt suicide. Donations power 24/7 crisis services to ensure LGBTQ+ young people always have that one adult.
Volunteer
Volunteer crisis counselors help LGBTQ+ youth navigate through tough times and prevent suicide. Candidates are trained and prepared for potential scenarios when conversing with LGBTQ+ youth in crisis.
As a volunteer, you can help over one hundred young people who wouldn’t be supported otherwise. Trainings allow you to develop support skills that can nourish your relationships in your everyday life, too.
Pursue a Career with The Trevor Project
Pursuing a career with The Trevor Project allows you to uplift LGBTQ+ young people through suicide prevention hotlines, advocacy, clinical operations, community affairs, and organizational support.
The Trevor Project offers remote career opportunities and internships. Explore job openings to be part of an inclusive community dedicated to ending LGBTQ+ youth suicide.
Start a Fundraiser
Fundraising for The Trevor Project allows you to show your support and gather funds to support its efforts. Fundraise as an individual, as a team, while streaming, or in memoriam.
