March Charity Partner: Girls Who Code

Mar 03, 2025
Casely is happy to announce that we are partnering with Girls Who Code for this month’s #EveryCaseCounts charity initiative. Learn about the international nonprofit below and how you can support its efforts.
What Is Girls Who Code?
Girls Who Code is a nonprofit organization working to minimize the gender gap in computer science. The organization creates programs and other resources to teach girls how to code and prepare them for the tech workforce.
The percentage of women in computer science has dropped from 37% in 1995 to 22% in 2022. GWC has worked to curb this decline and aims to close the gender gap in entry-level tech positions by 2030.
Founded in 2012 by Reshma Saujani, GWC implements after-school and summer club programs to teach foundational computer science concepts to middle and high school girls. It also offers programs aimed at college-aged students regarding career exploration and readiness.
How Can You Help?
Donate
Donations are the most effective way to support Girls Who Code directly. Your donation allows the nonprofit to continue developing and providing access to programs and curricula that increase the number of women in tech positions.
Provide a one-time donation or set up a monthly account to support the movement throughout the year.
Start a Club
If you meet the requirements, you can introduce a club to your community and join Girls Who Code’s movement. GWC provides resources and support to help you run a successful club, including curriculum, training, and recruitment.
Start a local club and help reduce the gender gap in computer science.
Start a Fundraiser
Starting a fundraiser effectively gathers funds for the nonprofit while spreading the word about its programs. You can host a celebration, sponsor GWC in a race, or encourage your coworkers to support the cause.
Partner with Girls Who Code
Because of corporate and philanthropic partnerships, Girls Who Code is en route to closing the gender gap in entry-level tech jobs by 2030. Connect your workplace to the nonprofit to start a corporate partnership and join its efforts to teach computer programming to young women.
