Sure, when we hear it, we mostly think of Michigan, but in fact, Lake Michigan sits between Wisconsin, Michigan, Illinois and Indiana. Often referred to as the ‘Third Coast’ of America, there’s no shortage of beautiful places to admire when visiting Wisconsin’s largest body of water.
No @maddymarq, we can’t believe this is in the Midwest! Lake Superior is home to one of Wisconsin’s national treasures, the #apostleislands. Protected as a National Park, there are 22 islands positioned off the Bayfield Peninsula that see thousands of visitors each year.
Lake Winnebago is the largest lake located entirely in Wisconsin. With 88 miles of shoreline, there’s undoubtedly everything you can imagine to do peppered along this stunning lake.

We’re with @penandpostcard and calling for all sustainable travelers to come forth! If you’re already going to be in the Grand Teton National Park, then exploring Jenny Lake makes eco-friendly sense (you’re already in that neck of the woods, literally!). Over 12,000 years old, this lake was created by glaciers moving rocks. #science

We input these place names into Instagram as hashtags (#Xnationalpark, #Xnationalforest, #Xlake, etc.) and recorded the number of hashtags from each location. Hashtag counts accurate as of April-May 2021.
