What Is the Trevor Project?

The Trevor Project is a national nonprofit focusing on providing suicide prevention and crisis intervention services to LGBTQ youth under the age of 25.

Its mission is to end suicide among LGBTQ young people by providing life-saving and life-affirming resources, including 24/7 support via phone (1-866-488-7386), text ("START" to 678678), and chat (TheTrevorProject.org/Help). Trevor also offers accredited, online suicide prevention training for professionals and youth-serving adults.

In addition to operating the world’s largest safe space for LGBTQ young people in digital spaces, the organization provides direct support to young people through TrevorSpace, the world’s largest social networking site for LGBTQ young people and their allies.

Learn About LGBTQ Suicide Prevention from The Trevor Project

It's no secret that members of the LGBTQ community face unique challenges — including a higher risk for suicide. LGBTQ young people are more than 4 times as likely as their cisgender, heterosexual peers to attempt suicide.

The Trevor Project estimates that 1.8 million+ LGBTQ youth consider suicide every year in the US, with at least one attempt every 45 seconds.

In 2020 alone, the Trevor Project directly served 150k+ crisis contacts with over 786 volunteers available to speak with young people. More than 95% of youth who reached out to Trevor experienced de-escalation from suicidal thoughts.

The Trevor Project is making a significant impact on the lives and livelihoods of LGBTQ youth around the US, and Casely is proud to support their cause.

How to Help
